The Proposal
Land West of School Lane, Higham
An outline application is proposed for the erection of up to 50 dwellings, alongside landscaping and public open space.
This equates to a gross density of circa 18 dwellings per hectare.
50% of the dwellings will be affordable housing, surpassing the current policy requirement of 35%.
There will be a variety of dwelling types and tenures, including 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom properties.
The Framework Plan sets out the key parameters, including land uses, points of access indicative internal road arrangements, residential frontages, and landscaping.

Following the public consultation event, there are two clarifications in respect of the Framework Plan board.
- The purple stars indicate potential locations for ‘feature properties’, i.e. properties with notable architectural features which are typically positioned in prominent positions within the development.
- The view corridors running southwards from the centre of the Site are to St John’s Church (not St Mary’s Church).
